Optical Design and Test
LFD has unique expertise in the design and development of LED aircraft external lighting systems.
This includes the ability to assess the requirements for both covert IR and visible, NVG friendly operation, and to design units with the optimal set of spectral and intensity distribution characteristics to fulfil their required performance parameters.
LFD has a dedicated dark room facility with both photometric and spectroradiometric equipment. All equipment is fully calibrated.
The photometry facility includes the ability to measure the output of pulsed sources such as aircraft anti-collision lights.
